What Are You Reading?

Last night I realized I need to update my "currently reading" list. I recently finished Free of Charge by Miroslav Volf and was wondering what to read next. I thought, hey why don't I go and check out what I'm currently reading on my blog. And there was one book left. Then this morning I thought, why don't I ask for help from the blogosphere...

So, what are you reading? Or, what have you recently read that you would highly recommend?

For church stuff, I'm reading Leading Beyond the Walls by Adam Hamilton.

For personal reading, I'm looking to pick up .. er.. more like borrow from the public library, Michael Chabon's new book, The Yiddish Policemen's Union.

joseph - i enjoyed Leading Beyond the Walls by Adam Hamilton. I thought it was a good read, and there were a few practical suggestions that I was able to immediately put into practice. What do you think about it so far?

By the way, I know a few pretty cool pastors that are also at Adam Hamilton's church. Andrew and Nicole ; )

I will have to look into Chabon's book, I am not familiar with it.

By the way, sorry that I am so slow, I just realized today right before you left this comment that I know you! I am glad that you seem to be doing well in Hawaii.

Life of Pi is a personal favorite.

I just picked up The Last Week by Borg and Crossan.

There are SO many books on my summer reading list. Blue Like Jazz. The Secret Message of Jesus. Adventures in Missing the Point.

anonymous - that sounds like a great reading list. I loved Blue Like Jazz. And I found the interaction between Brian McLaren and Tony Campolo to be very interesting in Adventures in Missing the Point.

Thanks for sharing your summer reading list!

Kevin - I'm feeling pretty cool right now sitting inside in air conditioning :)

I am hoping to start The Secret Message of Jesus by Brian McLaren soon.

andrew - I think that has probably been my favorite book by McLaren that I have come across. When you read it, let me know what you think.
